San Rafael Swell Travel Management Plan
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has published the final Decision Record for the San Rafael Swell Travel Management Plan (TMP) closing 665 miles of roads and limiting access to 141 additional miles (released December 31, 2024).
Specifically, the route designations break down as follows:
OHV-Closed:
Closed to public OHV use: 665 miles
OHV-Limited:*
Limited to motorized singletrack: 89 miles
Limited to vehicles 60 inches or less in width: 33 miles
Limited to e-bikes: 13 miles
Limited to aircraft: 1 mile
Limited seasonally: 4 miles
Limited to motorized singletrack: 89 miles

OHV-Open: Open to all vehicle types at all times of the year: 1,355 miles
*According to the BLM, the definition of an OHV includes trucks, jeeps, side-by-sides, ATVs, UTVs, your mom's Subaru, certain e-bikes, motorbikes, and motorcycles.
